With Brett Tucker and Pippa Black leaving the street soon, and with the recent loss of Eloise Mignon from our screens, it would be understandable for some of our Neighbour’s fans to be feeling a little upset at the changes that are taking place. But let’s look at the positives, a new heart throb has joined the cast - hunky, Scottish-born Jordan Smith. With his golden locks and bright blue eyes, he’s sure to light up the screen, and some hearts on the Street.
Smith, who has already begun filming, said he thought he wasn’t going to be able to accept the job after a nasty accident put him in hospital for a week. He told the Herald Sun in Melbourne that he’d been working as a labourer lifting up concrete floors when some of the concrete flew up and hit him in the face.
“My nose was swollen and became infected, so I was on a drip on antibiotics for a week,” he said.According to Smith, he received a phone call on Sunday night while he was still in hospital, and had to be in Melbourne the next day at 7am to start shooting. He may be a little battered and bruised for his first stint on the show, but he'll be looking his usual hunky self very soon.
After falling in love with the Aussie lifestyle and weather while on a family holiday in 2001, Jordan’s parents decided to make Queensland their home and relocated the family to Australia in 2003.
While in high school, drama became one of Jordan’s favourite subjects and after finishing Year 12 in 2007, he completed a number of acting courses, appeared in commercials and had guest roles in Home and Away and h20 just add water.
Andrew Robinson is Jordan’s first major role and will make his on-screen debut in December playing opposite Neighbours stalwart Stefan Dennis, his character’s father.
“Andrew is really interesting, charming but also complex because he didn’t grow up with a father,”
A keen movie-goer, Jordan loves surfing, skating and plays soccer.
