Callum is a handful, often creating pockets of chaos just to be noticed. But now that he's in high school, is he really growing up?
Callum Jones

Callum is a handful, often creating pockets of chaos just to be noticed. And noticed he is. Callum is energetic and lively, but under the larrikin exterior is a damaged boy looking for someone to love him. Callum comes from a strained family background: an addict mother who disappeared when he was six, an absent father he's never met, and loving, but elderly grandparents who found it increasingly difficult to cope with his hyperactivity. Despite these setbacks, Callum has a lot to offer. He's smart, sharp, funny, cunning and clever.
After the death of his grandfather, Callum's gran Hilda had to take on odd jobs and met Steph Scully through a clearning job at Charlie's Bar. Unable to look after Callum very well, Steph decided to introduce Callum to Toadie who she thought was in need of some young company following his own adoption plans falling through. Callum was in desperate need of a male role model and over time they found common interests such as their love of wrestling that bonded them together as friends. Toadie was happy to have Callum stay with him.
After a difficult time settling in to the street, being let down by friends and not knowing where he belonged in life, Callum and Toadie started to build their family together. They bonded over a mutual love of wrestling, and a decision to take on a Guide Dog brought Sonya Mitchell into their lives. Gradually Sonya and Toadie developed feelings for each other, and despite Toadie's sham marriage to Steph Scully, his relationship with Sonya bloomed.
But Sonya had a difficult secret: Callum was her biological son. She'd abandoned him as a baby in favour of a party lifestyle.
As time went on, with Sonya living at No. 30 with Callum and Toadie, the cracks began to show. It was a potentially life threatening accident that brought Callum's old memories and the truth out. Deeply hurt and confused, Callum found it difficult to forgive, but wanted to learn more about his childhood and his mother. Sonya let Callum take things at his own pace, and before too long he embraced her as family.
Callum is best mates with Sophie Ramsay, and they are at Erinsborough High together. But she's a teenage girl, and he knows nothing about teenage girls! How will high school change them? Will they still be close?
